Why won't you let me use/eat (something) ? You're just greedy!
Mostly, dude, it's because you can act like a jerk if you can't have it all. If I won't let you have some of the lemonade I bought because I'm trying to make sure we don't go through it all in 3 days, and you flip out about how greedy I'm being... why would I then want to give you some of my lemonade? If you could just be patient and Find Something Else to entertain yourself with or eat, eventually lemonade would become obtainable again. But if you just whine every time it's brought up, why would that put me in a sharing mood?
Why won't you let me watch 6 episodes of (something) in a row?
It's rude, dude, to whine about getting something because you don't get as much as you want. Look, I know you sped through the entire first two seasons of Family Guy in a weekend, and that is why I'm a bit more controlling now. You have no willpower, so I'll be that sometimes. I like to share what I have with you, but not drown you in it and leave you a lump for a weekend. Have some variety!
You NEVER want to watch a movie/play a game!
That complaint really means "You won't always play a game or watch a movie when I want to." The times when we desire to watch a movie or play a game don't always match up. That doesn't mean we haven't played dozens of hours of my games, or watched dozens of my movies.
