The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1
SPOILERS TOTAL. You've been warned.
201: La Gentillesse des Ãtrangers 2024 September 29
(First watched 2026-02-06) Daryl picks up where we left him off, being a weird extra wheel at this place with weird plans for his weird little friend.
Carol... well, is Carol. Finds a friendly guy and then just lies lies lies to get him to fly her to France. "I'm looking for my friend." won't cut it, so she lies about her daughter possibly still being alive to tug at the heartstrings of a fellow parent who lost a kid.
This guy Ash she's taking advantage of, though... seems lucky he lived this long. At first glance his setup seems pretty nice, but every time his power flicks off his front gate opens up? Can't like... have a metal bar keeping it closed as a backup?
202: Moulin Rouge 2024 October 6
(First watched 2026-02-08) Meet some new people in Greenland, new people in Greenland die. It's the Walking Dead way of keeping the cast from growing.
So the situation Daryl is in is I think something fresh. We've seen a few varieties of crazy bad people over and over, but this is a group of on-the-surface good people who are so zealous they're willing to do heinous things in the name of their beliefs.
203: L'Invisible 2024 October 13
(First watched 2026-02-09) Boy, Daryl sure killed... a shitload of people there.
Last episode I wrote "group of on-the-surface good people", but the more we see of them, the more I see that the line between good and crazy can be pretty thin.
204: Le Paradis Pour Toi 2024 October 20
(First watched 2026-02-10) For the second time this season we see Carol freak out over a barn door. Now, yes, her daughter dying and being locked in the barn was a traumatic thing... but it feels weird that we're only seeing this NOW, and not like... the last 9 seasons of the original show? But hey, who am I to say how trauma works.
So in the very same episode where the bad guys and the crazy guys have a big battle... they end up joining forces. Whatever.
Unfortunately I'd kind of been spoiled about Isabelle. Spoilers come in all forms. I was looking at the show on IMDb and happened to notice some of the major characters were in way fewer episodes than Daryl, like two seasons worth max. Soooo I kind of had an idea where things were headed. But I'm still not sure where that means the next two seasons of the show are headed.
205: Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir 2024 October 27
(First watched 2026-02-11) Forgot to mention it last episode, but their retconning of Carol saying someone was back to her claiming it just means a _feeling_ was back, and not 100% intended as a reference to Rick... come on, pull the other one.
So this episode surprised me. After the passed invitation from Losang to spar with Daryl earlier in the season I was absolutely expecting a hand-to-hand fight between them, but this is only the penultimate episode. Losang is dead, Genet is dead... what's next?
Paris's catacomb of human bones is kind of the perfect setting to be used in this show.
They can't fly the plane with four people. I was wondering about this, and it seems like an obvious thing for them to have worried about earlier. Speaking of plane stuff, I'm glad to see Ash not letting Carol off the hook for both lying to him and specifically using her dead daughter as the "lying fuel".
"Laurent will be safer in America. At least you guys don't fall for fascists." is a pretty funny line, whether you take it as an in-universe reference to the many nasties seen across the other series, or real world people like Donald Trump.
206: Au Revoir les Enfants 2024 November 3
(First watched 2026-02-13) Seems like season 2 was a giant reset. Find a way to clear the cast of all the major non-Daryl characters, bring in Carol, and change the setting.
The Chunnel is another great setting choice for the show. At first my remembered knowledge of the Chunnel said "Wouldn't lack of ventilation be a problem?", but I thought maybe without vehicles going through adding pollution that wouldn't be such an issue. Then everybody started getting fucked up from guano fumes, so yeah, ventilation was a problem. Are they really going to get through and have the next season be in England, though?
I found it kind of funny that the "Carol freaking out about Sophia" thing was resolved with Carol remembering what she was like before dying... but it was necessarily not the same young actor, and so not really what she looked like before dying.
