Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Good fun. It's no classic for the ages, but as an eye-catching idea executed competently, it works. Basically this is a secret history of what Abraham Lincoln was up to behind the scenes of the stories we've all heard, as written by a biographer based on previously secret journals. While history tells us his grandfather died by Indiana attack and his mother through milk sickness, here we see that the truth is they were both vampire-related deaths, and Abe learning of this caused him to devote his life to ridding America of vampires. I don't know how many liberties were taken with the actual Lincoln's life, but as an American with an average understanding of Lincoln the legend this seemed to jive up well enough--and the few things I did double-check on (beyond vampires) did turn out to be accurate, like how Stephen Douglas also courted the woman Lincoln would end up marrying. 4/5
