The day that more or less progressively improved

MST3K tomorrow: Hobgoblins. Finally, epic rake battles and furry puppets together. Tetris Attack clone: Nothing today. Too much other stuff. Tough math test. Then my grandma's in quite a bit of pain; she's been having some sort of mouth pain for quite a long time, though it's come and gone. They haven't really traced its real cause down. Her current pills weren't doing any good today. As it so happened, my mom hadn't been feeling too well today either and was off work, so she came over as well. Made some calls and went and picked up some different medication for Grandma, as well as a couple pizzas. Last before we left, she did seem better off than earlier in the day, though that's not necessarily saying much overall. Also in there I made another batch of cookies like the ones I mentioned 10-ish days ago. The experimentation continues: I included more flour, some oatmeal, and chilled the end mixture for a while; all efforts to try to make the things more solid. However, they didn't make much of a difference and they still got pretty flat. However, as I was prepared this time I put fewer and smaller on a sheet at a time. Then I come home, and watch two movies my dad rented:

<a>Evolution</a>

One-dimensional characters and a tad of product placement. Not excellent, but a reminder that there exists categories beyond that of Nerds IV. Between movies saw a Comedy Central stand up thing. Bob Regan or something like that. Maybe I just haven't seen standup in a while, but I found him quite quite entertaining, and as my dad noticed, was part of that rare breed who aren't liberally *bleep*ed.

<a>The Animal</a>

Standard Happy Madison fare, but this time with Selphie, and slightly more than usual animal sex jokes. I must say I was a bit proud of my brother for making the necessary calls that I don't always externalize. He'd toss out a "Product placement!", quick gag about the General Lee, or whatever during the above two flicks. Rogue Leader: Finally got that homing concussion missile thingy! Indeed, does make Slave 1 suck slightly less ass; it still went down quick on Razor, but took 80 enemies with it in that 90 seconds. It also aided the Tie Advanced, getting me a Bronze in Triumph of the Empire, and upping my rank to Commander. Super Mario World: Began game. I think I can say with some confidence that I have not lost my MAD SKILLZ. Granted, it was only the first world I played tonight, but I only went through each stage once, no lives lost, all dragon coins, never lost my first Yoshi (though we were temporarily separated a few times), and had 19 lives when all was said and done. Stages-complete number shown at title screen: 6. <nowiki>*reads IGNCube*</nowiki> HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHITTING SHITNESS! THE SHIT IS SACRED AND I AM WORSHIPPING IT AND SACRIFICING SHIT TO THE SHIT! <a>http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html</a> It's like my version of Armistice Day! ICQ Fun Time Teeters: Hey hey Me: http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html http://cube.ign.com/articles/355/355167p1.html Teeters: Once would've been sufficient. :P Me: No, wouldn't. Teeters: You're right. It wouldn't. So I'm a nerd and loser and get worked up over what would seem to most in the world an insignificant thing. But I'll own up to who I am: my eyes are leaking and the joy is expressing itself as a near-but-not-quite-vomiting sensation. Sure, it's only the tangent FF Unlimited series that seems a sure thing right now, but dammit, its exciting stuff!
