Twoday

Yesterday went to the math thingy. Drive wasn't quite as long as we expected, which was boon and curse, since it basically meant a half hour to fill with nothing. Though at least some of it got used when the vending machine ate the dollar for Chad's Twix and he went to the business office or some such to get a replacement. Anderson University; a cousin of mine attends there, though I didn't run into her or anything. So stuff and stuff, and Chad, Connie Balagade, and I are trying to do these math problems. Though the grading was done last night and I've heard no results, I feel safe saying we didn't win. Out of the 6 questions, in ~2 hours we got 1 absolutely right (we got an answer sheet afterward), and did an assy incorrect job at two more. Ohoho. But trying to do them was a good fun thinking exercise. Had dinner at Arby's, where we could see a business called something like Pleasure through a window; I theorized that being another college town, this was Anderson's equivelant of Manchester's The "Service" Station in our fictional world of not-well-hidden prostitution services. Then it's like a Monday redux, but even better. Rather than hearing an interesting talk about the history of paperbacks, it was a really interesting talk on how the guy broke driver's license codes. There's also just something about hearing a talk at a specifically math function, as there is with a specifically anything function I guess, where certain topics or little anecdotes make more sense to a more specialized audience. Reminds me of my unwieldy idea that all jokes should be preceded by a prerequisite list. So we go back. I arrive home, do this and that, and it surprises me how spent just riding in the back seat of a car can leave one's feet and legs. Well, either that or they've just atrophied much much worse than I expected. MST3K today: Final Justice. Joe Don Baker... he deserves to be an adjective. Also, rock on Goosio! Me, m'bro, m'ma, and m'ma's work friend went out to be cheap people: went to Goodwill and Salvation Army. I got another new hat (in addition to one m'ma's work friend Julie had already sent to me the day before and which I am wearing now), and several books; Hannibal, something on Marxism, another copy of The Book of Lists (my copy is coverless and a bit dog-chewed, and it's THE GREATEST BOOK EVER), something about Marism, a (duck, Washingtonians) ST:TNG book, and a couple of 70s era non-fiction books about aliens as gods; I also need an adjective to describe the lettering on those books, which I see on other "weird topic" books of the era as well. Also tripled my collection of wooden sporks. My loser brother got a Monster Burger at Hardee's, but the rest of us went to the aptly named Chinese Food. I myself got General Tso's Beef, which is also quite good and obviously related to its chicken brethren. Then I type this. With much italicizing. Rogue yesterday: Messing SM64 yesterday: 101, 102 stars? Got Tick Tock and the red coin one from Bowser stage 3, so whatever the previous day's was + 3. Current Mood: cheerful <a>Original</a>
