Robotrek was an early 90s SNES game developed by Quintet and Enix.  It holds a special place for me, because past the initial WHAM-BAM-AWESOME of Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI, and Chrono Trigger, this was one of the first RPGs I played.  It's a less serious affair than any of those games; the Japanese title was Slapstick, there was a group of villains known as "Hackers", and instead of experience points you gained megabytes of data.

It's also got a... beautifully flawed translation.  Early on while trying to explain the workings of the game to you, it gives you such helpful gems as "Robotscan be made, maintenaned, and powered up. are also possible"

The bit of text that totally altered my language, though, was when you confront a Hacker only to be told "That's what you say, but evil is good.  Evil is the job."  For years now I've used "the job" to mean great.  Saying something is "the job" is very much like saying it's "the bomb", only much nerdier and most people won't understand what you mean.

Robotrek shared a font with fellow SNES Quintet games Act Raiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma.  My modern interpretation of it can be found in My Fonts.
