The Walking Dead: Dead City

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1

SPOILERS TOTAL. You've been warned.

201: Power Equals Power 2025 May 4
(First watched 2026-02-15) There's plenty I've forgotten since I watched the first season a year or two back and that may take some of the blame, but there are some major necessary points that don't convince me enough. I'm not convinced using the dead for methane would give a very large or long-lasting supply. I'm not convinced that if it did, taking over the city by invasion would be the simplest way to take advantage of the process. I'm not convinced that Maggie's Hilltop successor would end up forcibly aligned with an overbearing New Babylon Federation, when she/Hilltop had close relations with people who are somebodies in the Commonwealth, or have made the NCR a better place.

Negan trying to turn over a better leaf, but being forced to act like his worst self to protect his wife and kid... it's tortured. It's like they're trying to have their cake and eat it too with his character, but it doesn't work. He was a fun villain, but seeing him forced to act the villain makes it no longer fun.

202: Another Shitty Lesson 2025 May 11
(First watched 2026-02-16) So the New Babylon exploratory/invasion boat gets blown the hell up. Seems like they're making Hershel the obvious mole.

203: Why Did the Mainlanders Cross the River? 2025 May 18
(First watched 2026-02-17) I find it kind of hard to believe the Central Park tribe would in so few years have... gone so native? Started on elaborate death rituals of wailing and cutting out of hearts as an offering to the dead buffering them from the rest of the city?

204: Feisty Friendly 2025 May 25
(First watched 2026-02-19)

205: The Bird Always Knows 2025 June 1
(First watched 2026-02-20) Hershel seems less a character and more a living MacGuffin, there to be used or threatened to control Maggie.

Negan sowing dissent between the Croat and Dama, just a bit surprised they don't see it. He's clearly unhappy with his role and laying it on pretty thick.

206: Bridge Partners Are Hard to Come by These Days 2025 June 8
(First watched 2026-02-21) So Dama is really dead? Last episode they cut away before it was a done deal, which is usually a sign a show is just trying to fool you, but they sure act like it's a done deal. And I think Negan and the Croat would notice if there was a total lack of Dama corpse in her room.

So Negan now finds himself in control of Dama/Croat's people, and he's sent his family back from whence they came... so what's next for him?

That sure was a hell of a big bear in the museum, and everyone sure seemed to sleep through its roaring and fighting.

207: Novi Dan, Novi Početak 2025 June 15
(First watched 2026-02-22) OK, they got me. After making me think Dama would still be alive, they showed her burnt corpse... then it turns out she's alive after all. She got a replacement good-enough corpse to burn in her place and the Croat and Negan fell for it.

For the most part zombies are like wallpaper in this show now, but a pediatric unit full of zombie kids is still pretty upsetting.

So Negan went looking for antibiotics and came back with... a ventilator? Is that really going to help if the infection isn't stopped?

208: If History Were a Conflagration 2025 June 22
