January 1998

Hello. If you're reading this from anywere other then "Sy's Space 'o Nothing", you may be wondering who I am. Well, I'm Brent Hirose, and I've known Josh for a bit now (I AM assuming you're reading it from N64 Surge). It would be thanx to him this document ever reached your hands. Anyway, I should begin.

Well, you've probably skipped the first paragraph to see what the heck the title means. Well? I guess I better explain. A few days ago I FINALLY (the post people are being turds..) got my January issue of Nintendo Power. In it I had a look at what was coming up. It got me

DAMN ecited, so let's look at the future!

First of all, I saw Fighter's Destiny, wich is now out. To me, it came out of no where. After examining it, I'm really hyped up! A fighting tournament game that is played like a tournament? Be still my heart.  I'm in love! So, what else do we have on the fighting front? How does Sumo 64, WCW vs. NWO, WCW NITRO, WWF: Raw is War, Dual Heroes and Mortal Kombat 4 grab you? By the throat and into the nearest wall availible? I thought so. With all this, we should soon be able to forget WarGods, MKT and Dark Rift*shudder*

Snowboarding has come a long way. A sport that started with a idiot fixing his alpin cabin roof only to end up flying down the moutain with what was left of his roof (j/k!) has now a bunch of video game spin-offs! They go from the "cute" Snowboard Kids, to Twisted Edge (now to be published by Midway). Any others? How about Nintendo's own 1080 Snowboarding? Snowboarding is also an event in Nanago '98. It has come a long way.

Finnally, what REALLLY made me excited was MARIO ARTIST!!! 3D modeling! The ability to create charaters that you can use in video games! The ability to import textures and pictures into other games! Happy happy happy! SO MUCH! Anyway, there's alot to look forward to.  CYA NEXT TIME!

Until Pocket Monsters Abduct me to Japan,
