Just call me John Carmack

Tetris Attack: Added in the option of mouse control rather than arrow keys and space bar. Added in two new versions of blocks: the "bottom row, can't touch me yet" type, and the "oh no, I'm about to disappear" type. I also learned how to create new objects where there was an array of objects, though I haven't yet implemented it. Generally cleaned up some things and removed things long unnecessary, like the textbox I made early on so I could see a numerical display of the array of blocks. Moved the actual game field onto a separate form; the original one will be to set options, and maybe things like score if I ever implement anything of the sort. Talking to Boco on ICQ I realized I hadn't thought at all about a puzzle mode, but it should be really easy to allow people to create puzzles for use with the program. I also tried varying the size of the field. I found that when I made it a few times bigger, it was noticeably slower. At least, when holding a direction for the brackets to move, it wouldn't show each step. Guess that's just inefficiency catching up to me; of course, that was several times the size of a legit Tetris Attack field. Those of you with sight may have noticed I displayed an image last night; I've found that you can link to or use an image tag to things in Yahoo Briefcase, it's just the URL looks nasty. So uhh, here's a pic of the Tetris Attack clone in the works, just slightly behind how it is now:

I'll probably squeeze the few other interesting things I've got there out in the next few days' updates. Toaster Thief has shown me an interesting thing. Make sense of this, and earn my temporary gratitude. Illuminatus! = good Super Mario 64: Got my four in Hazy Maze (Plus green cap), four in level with sub, second Bowser level, went on to uhmm... Tall, Tall Mountain (I think. It's not too far off from my proposed not-really-its-name, Big Ass Hill). For full disclosure, though I previously mentioned not getting red coin stars in levels, I did get the red coin stars in each of the special cap stages. 47 stars. Rogue: A few more unsuccessful (but quite close) tries at the Endor upgrade. Current Mood: sleepy Original
