(First watched 2011-10-23) I've said before that the stuff related to the Five is my favorite in the series. It is public knowledge I am a time travel nerd. So yeah, quite enjoyed this episode, especially seeing Watson again. The time travel seemed fairly done; things were changed, but enough of the seeds were left the same so that paradoxes shouldn't be created. 1800s England diiid look pretty cheap, but this is Sanctuary.
Spring-heeled Jack? Interesting and obvious thing to bring into the Sanctuary universe, but... I thought they'd previously indicated Druitt was Jack the Ripper? Am I misremembering, or? Perhaps they just hinted at it being a possibility, but the enmity between him and the others was still there because he was still a crazy murderer, even if not just for those particular murders?
I noticed in the title sequence John Druitt is no longer pictured with the cast, but Bigfoot is. Kate is gone, though. Cast change? I think this is the only show I watch that's new that I don't follow so closely that such things are known in advance.
So at the end Helen is left to... just wait until she reaches the future. Things similar to this have happened in various stories I've read or watched, and it's always weird. She'll pick up where she left off, but also be over a hundred years out of the loop. She should have all sorts of troubles with the details of things, but I'm sure in no time at all they'll talk about things taking place the year before and she'll act like she has no more trouble recalling it than anyone else. I do wonder if we'll get to see any of this time she's trying to stay out of the way, whether it be in the next episode or in future flashbacks.
