The end bugs me. They're talking about possible treatments for Ry'ac, and electroshock therapy comes up. Fraiser says it's not barbaric if done properly and while the patient is under anesthesia. Then... they just have Teal'c go shoot him with a zat!? That's certainly not the proper conditions!

Jacob's first appearance... and he's a bit of a dick. "Ohhh I'm dying of cancer! I require my daughter to become an astronaut to feel an appropriate level of pride before I perish!" "But Dad I'm kinda working on something impor" "I SAID THAT'S ENOUGH. I'LL SEE YOU LATER."
Really this episode had three pretty decent stories going on. Carter/dad, reporter wanting to reveal Stargate program, and Daniel/Teal'c on Abydos with temporarily-normal Sha're.
