The stuff with the Doctor in a hotel for a year... it felt like Moffat didn't have enough material for his main plot and was like "Can I write a second shorter special and shove it in the middle somewhere?" Pleasant enough on its own, but didn't really do much for the rest of the episode, and it's not the first time we've seen the Doctor stay in one place for a long time, whether by his choice or not. | |||
