The Real Ghostbusters

I now understand the title was to differentiate it from the other Ghost Busters cartoon, but at the time the naming choice puzzled me.  "Wait... the cartoon is realer than the live action?"

This is also probably the first time when fictional canon became a notable thing for me.  As a fan of The Real Ghostbusters, I was pretty perturbed when Ghostbusters II came around and failed to accept the events of the cartoon as happening between the movies.  "Wait... these guys haven't been busting ghosts with Slimer's help and snazzy new outfits, but have been demonized and put out of business?"
